Small Business of the Year Awards

Honoring small business people whose dedication,
innovation and determination have created a lasting social and economic impact on Montgomery and the River Region.
The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations from individuals and businesses wishing to recognize an outstanding small business for its entrepreneurial achievements and contributions to the community. The Awards process is open to the entire metro area business community. A business may nominate itself.
General Information & Criteria
Criteria for all Awards:
- Nominees must be locally owned, for-profit business entities.
- Nominees must have 99 or fewer employees.
Emerging Business of the Year Awards
In addition to the above criteria, nominees must have been in business for a minimum of six months to a maximum of three years. This award is designed to honor those businesses that have distinguished themselves during the most challenging time in the life of a small business - the first three years.
Small Business of the Year Awards
In addition to the above criteria, nominees must have been in business for a minimum of three years.
A Small Business of the Year Award will be granted in each of the following categories:
- Category I - 1-10 employees
- Category II - 11-25 employees
- Category III - 26-50 employees
- Category IV - 51-99 employees
River Region Small Business of the Year Award
In addition to meeting the basic criteria for the Small Business of the Year Awards as shown above, the business should show SIGNIFICANT growth in one or more of the following areas: job creation and net revenues, innovation in operations, facing adversity, and community involvement. Only one River Regions Small Business of the Year Award will be granted.

Instructions
Complete the nomination form and submit it to the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. The information included on this Nomination Form will be considered confidential and will be used only by the judging panel. Compliance with selection criteria is mandatory. Additional supporting data is encouraged, including press articles, flyers, brochures, etc. All nominations must be submitted by the deadline of May 16, 2008.
